BRUIN and Cyberactive login 7/13/09

These two can only be accessed directly and not through links on the University webpage. The corresponding URLs are: https://cyberactive.bellevue.edu or https://bruin.bellevue.edu

Temporary login problems 7/13/09

The 8 digit student ID became effective for Cyberactive login on 7/10/09. However, library databases and email still use the 7 digit number for access. Most students are reporting that after attempting to log in, they get a blank page. If you are trying to login through Cyberactive, the Help Desk is telling students to type in this url, https://cyberactive.bellevue.edu, then login from there by clicking on the Student Services tab, then on "Library Databases." Now log in with the 7 digit student ID number. This seems to work but if it doesn't solve your problem, call the Help Desk directly at 402-557-7227. If you use the toll free 800 number, it is extension 7227. The desk is staffed until midnight CDT.

Wireless connection solutions (8-5-09)

problem: Students trying to connect and getting the message "no authorization permission granted" and the screen will not move from the log in page.

solution: The next time this happens have the person shut down their laptop. When shut down, unplug the laptop’s power cord from the outlet and then re-plug the cord into outlet again, discharging any electrical static that may have stored up within the connections or along the line. Upon rebooting, the wireless connection should engage.

ID Card requirements (8-11-09)

What to do when a student needs to get an ID card to check out material.

1.       Check to make sure the student is registered for class in a current session

2.      Send students to the ESB building to get an ID card – Admissions Department between the hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mon-Thurs and 8 a.m.-5p.m Friday.

3.       If the Admissions area is closed see if the student can access their account on OLD BRUIN – if they can have them print a temp ID card.

THIS NEXT STEP CAN ONLY BE DONE IF THE ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT IS CLOSED AND THE STUDENT CAN’T ACCESS OLD BRUIN

4.       If they can’t access OLD BRUIN and the Admissions department is closed then give them the LIBRARY patron ID barcode and ask them to attach it to their ID card when they get one.

5.     The Admissions extension to call is 7235.
